The first-ever Mid-States Poker Tour Venetian $1,100 mystery bounty event attracted a 318-entry turnout, easily surpassing the $200,000 guarantee to create a final prize pool of $306,870. Of that money, $211,620 went into the main prize pool, while $95,250 was set aside for the 35 mystery bounty payouts that ranged from $250 up to $25,000.

After two starting flights and a final playdown day at Venetian® Resort Las Vegas, Los Angeles resident Sean Berman secured the final bounty to walk away as the champion. Berman earned $37,479 from the main prize pool and $19,500 in bounty payouts for a total haul of $56,997.

This was the largest score yet for Berman, topping the $13,420 he took home for a 21st-place finish in the 2023 World Poker Tour Gardens Poker Championship last spring.

The 480 Card Player Player of the Year points that Berman earned as the champion were enough to move him within reach of the top 125 in the 2024 POY standings presented by Global Poker.

The top 35 finishers cashed in this event, a mystery bounty payout attached to each of them. Berman had plenty of tough competition to contend with down the stretch, including 2015 World Poker Tour Choctaw champion Jason Brin (9th), two-time bracelet winner David Jackson (8th), Christina Gollins (7th), 2018 Caribbean Poker Party main event runner-up Craig Mason (5th), and 2018 MSPT Season Finale runner-up Ronnie Lamb (3rd).

Spain’s Pedro Ingles was the lucky player to walk away with the top bounty payout of $25,000. With $35,419 from the main prize pool and $27,250 in bounties on top, his total haul for the event came to $62,669.

Here is a look at the main prize pool payouts and POY points awarded at the final table:

1 Sean Berman $37,497 480
