With the growth of the Internet came the growth of online poker sites and the use of blogs. PokerStars found a way for them to go hand in hand when the site launched a full-time blog that kept track of land- and Internet-based poker. Now, PokerStars wants to give back to other bloggers by hosting the World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP) which gives away $40,000 worth of prizes.
Registration is open until tomorrow, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. ET, but there is still time for writers to qualify. In order to be eligible, players must have an updated blog that has been in existence for at least two months. Players must register to receive a verification code which they will then have to post in their blog to ensure that it is indeed theirs. Once verified manually by PokerStars, players will receive a ticket to enter the event, which starts at 3 p.m. ET on Oct. 14.
Once in, players will compete in a no-limit hold'em freeroll with prizes worth thousands of dollars. First place is a trip to the Bahamas and a buy-in for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on the European Poker Tour. The winner will also receive a hotel room at the luxurious resort.
