In this "Strip Poker" series, Card Player covers the Las Vegas poker scene - on The Strip and around the city.
Poker players are known for keeping odd hours, and casinos are prepared to reward them for playing during slow times.
Beginning Monday, the Venetian is beginning the Early-Bird High Hands promotion from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. daily, until all prizes are awarded. Players must be competing in a limit or no-limit hold'em game and use both cards in their hand. The following are the hand payouts:
Players can win more than once, and there is no minimum amount of money that needs to be in the pot for the hand to be eligible. For more information on this promotion, call the Venetian poker room at 702-414-7657.
Having pocket aces cracked is never fun, but at the Suncoast casino from 1 a.m.-6 a.m., the poker room will award you $100. The Suncoast poker room can be reached at 702-636-7111.
At the Tuscany, players can get double hours toward its weekly freeroll that takes place every Saturday at 2 p.m. A minimum of 10 hours is required to qualify, which needs to be earned between midnight Saturday to midnight the next Saturday, and players can come in from 2 a.m.-7 a.m. or 2 p.m.-7 p.m. to earn double hours.
Players who log in 10 hours start with 1,000 in chips. Twenty hours gets players a 2,000 starting stack, and 30 hours is worth 4,000. Players also have the option of paying $50 for 5,000 in additional starting chips. The money for add-ons is added to the original prize pool, made up of $1 taken from each qualifying cash-game pot. Call the Tuscany poker room more information at 702-947-5917.
