Midnight tomorrow (Wednesday/Thursday) sees the start of a five-week TV run for the much-anticipated PartyPoker.com Poker Den: The Big Game II on Channel Four in the UK.

The $20,000 buy-in cash game was filmed over a continuous 24-hour period in London late last year by MatchroomFormer World Chamipon Jamie Gold turns his hand to cash Sports and features a mouth-watering lineup which includes Dave “The Devilfish” Ulliott, Tony G, Roland De Wolfe, Todd Brunson, Chris Jesus Ferguson, Robert Williamson III, Brian sbrugby Townsend, Jamie Gold, Thomas Bihl, and Hoyt Corkins.

The “Voice of Poker” Jesse May returns to the commentary booth for the marathon session and had plenty for action to get excited about right from the get-go. A spokesman for the company said, “The blinds started low but it took just 10 minutes for the first $20,000 pot to be won. The stakes were high and tempers were frayed as the big guns flexed their egos in London’s most notorious back-street venue.”

May previews the action here, and viewers can whet their appetite for the action here.

In other Party Poker news, Beverly Pace reigned victorious in last week’s Party Poker Women’s World Open lifting the $50,000 first prize and beating Jen Mason heads up.

“I’m very happy,” said Pace. “This is my first big win, and I intend to give myself a bankroll to play more tournaments for bigger stakes in the near future. I was pleased to beat Jen Mason. I have huge respect for her and she has taught me a lot on the circuit. Perhaps she didn’t do herself any favours, as I have picked up a lot about how she plays!

“Women’s tournaments are good for getting more ladies into the game. The standard is no different to a mixed-sex game, but they do encourage some to come forward who wouldn’t do otherwise.”

Men and women alike can join in the fun at partypoker.com.
