Bodog today kicked off its qualifiers for the 2008 World Series of Poker main event, and the site is likely going to award more than 120 seats into event before the tournament is held on July 3.
Three main-event satellites, called Main Event Semifinals, are being held on a weekly basis starting tonight and leading up to the main event. The satellites will run every Tuesday (7:15 p.m. ET), Thursday (9:15 p.m. ET), and Saturday (3:15 p.m. ET), and each one will pay out with at least one $12,000 prize package for the main event. The $12,000 includes a $10,000 buy-in and $2,000 for travel expenses. These tournaments run for $250+20, but they can be satellited into via qualifiers starting as low as $1 or 100 player points. Those qualifiers are running now; click here to sign up and enter one.
Bodog plans to add even more main-event qualifiers soon, in addition to the three weekly semifinals, which will likely push the number of seats to be won on the site to more than 120. Seats can also be won through the weekly Player’s Choice tournaments, which Bodog has been running for some time, now. Winners of the Player’s Choice tournaments can use their prize to enter into any $10,000 event, including the WSOP main event.
