A field of 36 players was created from an open-audition process, as well as from online qualifiers. Both Duke and Hellmuth chose nine players for their respective teams. The 18 picked playeAnnie Dukers were then sent to the Pechanga Resort and Casino, where they were coached by their respective captains. The players competed in a seven-week series for cash prizes and bragging rights.

The show will also feature celebrities also known for their passion for poker, including Jennifer Tilly, Sully Erna from Godsmack, and Scott Ian from Anthrax. The first episode airs tonight at 9 p.m., 11 p.m., and 12:30 a.m. local time on FSN.
