The 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza (DSE) ended yesterday with the culmination of the $2,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. Mike McMillian outlasted a field of 223 players to with the first-place prize of almost $168,000. The runner-up was John Bunch. He took home just under $98,000 of the nearly $538,000 prize pool.

Last year was the Venetian’s first attempt at the DSE, and the series did not have a main event. Another deep stack tournament series is being added to the Venetian’s schedule and will take place in April. Stay tuned for details on this as it becomes available on CardPlayer.com.
