The PokerStars European Poker Tour Polish Open started today, and 190 entrants are playing in day 1 of the five-day event. Some of the notable players who hit the felt today included Dario Minieri, Katja Thater, Julian Thew, and Magnus Petersson.

Last year, Peter Willers Jepsen beat a field of 284 entrants to win $200,000 in prize money. With 190 players playing today, it looks like last year’s prize pool will be surpassed. The buy-in of the event is 20,000 in Polish Zloty, which translate to around $8,600.

This is the ninth event of the fourth season of the EPT. There are only two more tournaments go after this one: EPT San Remo in Italy and the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. Both of these events take place next month. Qualifiers for the two events are now taking place on PokerStars. The final table of the EPT Polish Open takes place Saturday.
