The World Series of Poker Circuit event at Caesars Atlantic City kicked off its prelims with an action-packed first event that boasted a field of more than 1,000 entrants and had a chip leader disqualified at the final table — all of which helped build the anticipation for the $5,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em championship event, which starts tomorrow at 9 a.m.
With nearly 4,000 entrants in the first six prelim events, a large turnout is expected for the main event. Last year, there were 314 players, who created a prize pool of more than $1.5 million. Danny Yousefzadeh made his first major tournament cash after defeating John McMahan heads up for the title, the ring, and the almost $490,000 first-place prize.
