PokerStars Sunday Million

Lex 'RaSZi' Veldhuis made the final table of the Sunday Million last nightAttendance at the PokerStars Sunday Million was back up a bit last night when 7,394 entrants bought in. The tournament’s entry numbers dropped significantly last week, down to 7,249, after having had a stellar week the week before (March 9), when 8,063 entrants had bought in. Last night’s event had a prize pool of $1,478,800 and was dangling a carrot worth more than $200,000 as the first-place prize.

When it came down to threehanded play, it was Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis (photo at right), C00lHandNuke, and Shark’Le left looking to stay alive. RaSZi’s tournament life was cut short, however, and he went out in third place ($74,000). Unlike most weeks, the Sunday Million’s top prize was looking like it was going to be awarded in its entirety (rather than being chopped down as a result of a final-table deal), as the final two players opted not to mess with the payouts. C00LHandNuke was the main beneficiary of the risk, as he came out on top in the end to collect the entire $209,000 top prize.

The final results were:

  1. C00LHandNuke — $208,510
  2. Shark’Le — $104,994
  3. Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis — $73,940
  4. Vorcirion — $59,152
  5. LennyL — $44,364
  6. idlehours — $32,533
  7. pusteblume — $22,921
  8. FrgzAnonymus — $13,309
  9. debrisfish — $8,724

Full Tilt $1 Million Guarantee

Full Tilt’s monthly $1 million-guaranteed event was last night, and 2,245 entrants bought into the event, generating a prize pool of $1,122,500. This is basically equivalent to how well the tournament performed the last time it was held, in January.

The first-place finisher in the event was looking to nab $206,000, nearly as much as the winner of last night’s Sunday Million. Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier was within sight of that top prize when he made it to heads-up play versus Plotinus. Plotinus and IWEARGOGGLES fought it out, and Plotinus eventually bested his foe to pocket the top prize.

IWEARGOGGLES earned $126,393 for second place. The finish also netted him 1,200 Online Player of the Year points, which, along with the 1,200 he earned from taking down the PokerStars Sunday Warmup just last weekend, vaulted him into second place on in the standings. Now, only Brent “BHanks11” Hanks stands in his way for the No. 1 spot.

The final results were:

  1. Plotinus — $205,922
  2. Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier — $126,393
  3. Liina Love — $82,728
  4. LagTart — $66,003
  5. 6speed — $49,951
  6. SemiEvil — $35,920
  7. SkaDoodle — $26,378
  8. Mr Perfekt — $20,654
  9. Drew843 — $15,715

UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee

The $200,000-guaranteed event at UltimateBet lured 918 entrants last night, up a bit from last week’s 871 entrants. UltimateBet put $16,400 into the prize pool to bring it to the $200,000 guarantee.

After 916 players said their goodbyes, it was just BoooooooM and Ace10Clubz in the running for the $45,000 top prize. Ace10Clubz wound up with that $45K when BoooooooM fizzled out in second place ($26,500).

The final results were:

  1. Ace10Clubz — $45,000
  2. BoooooooM — $26,500
  3. scottythefish — $18,000
  4. gray99 — $13,100
  5. Hixx — $10,500
  6. Sean “broodogg” Bruder — $8,500
  7. panamatony — $6,500
  8. bootswild — $4,500
  9. gunnerbruce23 — $3,400
  10. udel2011 — $2,000

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

ATM4Life and farhamyhero were the final two players in the tournament, and they played heads-up for $25,000 and a more than $10,000 difference in paydays. ATM4Life’s bank account became well-funded when he took out his opponent to earn the first-place payday.

The final results were:

  1. ATM4Life — $25,000
  2. farhamyhero — $14,300
  3. thedude81 — $9,200
