This event will be attended by all of season six’s previous champions. Last year, 2001 World Series of Poker main event champion Carlos Mortensen won this event, taking down the largest first-place prize in WPT history. From the 639 entrants, the prize pool came to nearly $15.5 million, and the lion’s share of that went to Mortensen — just under $4 million. He became the only person ever to win both WSOP and WPT championships.
