The WPT Championship is scheduled for April 19. Supersatellites for the $25,000 buy-in tournament will cost $2,500 and run at the following times:

  • April 9 at 1 p.m.
  • April 16 at 1p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • April 17 at 10 p.m.
  • Carlos MortensenApril 18 at 1 p.m. and 10 p.m.

This event will be attended by all of season six’s previous champions. Last year, 2001 World Series of Poker main event champion Carlos Mortensen won this event, taking down the largest first-place prize in WPT history. From the 639 entrants, the prize pool came to nearly $15.5 million, and the lion’s share of that went to Mortensen — just under $4 million. He became the only person ever to win both WSOP and WPT championships.
