Event no. 14, the last preliminary event before the $25K WPT Five-Star World Poker Classic begins, will conclude today. Amidst the numerous super-satellites going on in the Fontana Lounge at Bellagio, the remaining 19 players return to battle for a first place prize of just over $430,000.
Among the notables still in contention are chip leader David "Bakes" Baker, Eric Froehlich, Jean "Prince" Gaspard, David "Raptor" Benefield, Paul "ComeOnPhish1" Lieu, Chris "Bushman" Bush, Danny Wong, Davidson Matthew, and Thayer "Thay3r" Rasmussen.
Some interesting story lines have developed as the preliminary series comes to a close. Danny Wong is going for his fifth cash, easily making him one of, if not the best all-around player thus far. Paul Lieu is going for his third cash, but has yet to make a final table. Jean Gaspard is hoping to avoid being the bubble boy for the second consecutive tournament.
