Jason JonesThe fifth event on the APAT Poker Association and Tour, held in the Gala Maybury Casino, Edinburgh, Scotland, has been won by Welshman Jason Jones. The £75 freezeout tournament attracted 132 entrants, with sponsor BlueSquare.com adding a Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event seat worth $3,000 to the winner.

Jones demolished the final table, knocking out five players on his way to a heads-up duel with Glen Laming, which was a brief affair due to Jones’ commanding chip lead. The short-stack pushed his remaining chips early in the finale but was called by Jones’ ace-high and lost.

The Welshman won £3,000, as well as the GUKPT seat, a championship medal and gold cup, and title of Scottish Amateur Champion 2008.
