LAPT San Jose Enters Day Two with 85 Players

Yesterday, the second event of PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) began with 398 entrants who showed up in San Jose for the $2,500 event. They built a prize pool of $965,150. The winner of this three-day event will receive $274,103. The runner-up receives $144,733, and the top 32 will earn at least $6,756. CardPlayer.com is providing live updates.

Play went on until there were 85 players remaining yesterday and featured some distinct eliminations, including Humberto Brenes, Daniel Negreanu, Victor Ramdin, as well as talk show host Montel Williams.

The top six chip leaders after day 1 are:

  • André Wagner (Germany, PokerStars qualifier) — 129,400
  • Andrés Ojeda (Venezuela) — 115,175
  • Peter Busch (USA, PokerStars qualifier) — 110,675
  • Abraham Rosenkrantz (Costa Rica) — 99,125
  • Joe Ebanks (USA, PokerStars qualifier) — 93,025
  • Victor Lemos (Panama) — 89,225

The first LAPT event took place in Brazil the first week of May and was won by Julien Nuijten who was one of 314 players to enter. He won $222,940.
