WPT Spanish Championship Ends Today

253 Players Showed Up in Barcelona for Event

The World Poker Tour’s Spanish Championship has its final six players and play is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET, which is 5 p.m. local time at Casino Barcelona. This event, which attracted 253 players, will not be televised.

All entrants paid €5,000 (approximately $7,800) to generate a prize pool of $1.99 million. The winner will receive $655,720.

After this event is complete, the WPT takes a break until after the World Series of Poker with its Bellagio Cup IV July 11-17. The final six, seating assignments and the chip counts of the Spanish Championship are:

  1. Casper Hansen - 604,000
  2. Stefan Mattsson - 1,253,000
  3. Andres Vidal - 140,000
  4. Guy Sitbon - 351,000
  5. Martin Lundenius - 421,000
  6. Thiago Nishijima - 1,031,000
