Casper Hansen is the winner of the World Poker Tour Spanish Championship, which wrapped up last night. He’s $655,720 richer for his effort. The runner-up in the event was Stefan Mattsson, who won $346,621 and now has more than $800,000 in lifetime poker tournament winnings.
The event, which won’t be televised, saw 253 entrants from around the world show up in Barcelona with €5,000 to try for a WPT title. The prize pool was $1.99 million.
Card Player Brazil columnist Thiago Nishijima finished third in this event, which was good for $176,934. The rest of the final table fared as follows:
