European Poker Tour Season Five Dates Announced

PokerStars.com today announced the schedule of dates and venues for season five of the European Poker Tour. As before the Tour beings at Casino Barcelona in Spain in mid-September before moving on to London, Warsaw, Prague before returning to Deauville in France for the first time since season 2 in 2006.

The Tour then moves on to Copenhagen, Dortmund, and San Remo before hitting Monaco for the Grand Final.

John Duthie, chief executive of the EPT, said, “"The new EPT season includes all the events which have made the past four seasons such a triumph with record fields across Europe and record prize pools. We have set very high standards and aim to improve on this still further in Season 5.

“Last year’s EPT proved a massive success, generating a total prize pool of almost €40,000,000 ($62,000,000), 5,902 players (including 1,682 PokerStars qualifiers) and the biggest single prize pool ever generated outside Las Vegas at the Monte Carlo Grand Final.”

The organisers expect to add further dates in the coming months. Players can begin their quest for qualification at PokerStars.com from Jul. 7 for as little as $2.20.
