PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million had 6,521 entrants last night, generating a prize pool of $1,304,200. That left a potential $162,000 for the first-place finisher, should the prize pool go unchopped. That attendance number and prize pool were up from last week (6,382, $1,276,400), but it was still the second-lowest attendance since February.

The final table of the event was unusually well-represented by notable Internet players (see the final results below). The winner of the event would not get $162,000, as the three finalists — supadphat, jalla79, and GoMukYaSelf — guaranteed themselves six-figure paydays when they made an even chop three-handed. Per the PokerStars chopping rules, $30,000 was left on the table for the eventual winner, so that meant that the three were guaranteed $105,000 and were gunning for a possible $135,000 in total winnings. Jalla79, a previous PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker event winner, was the first to get sent to the rail after the chop. It was then heads up between GoMukYaSelf and supadphat. Supadphat was doing very well for himself last night, as he made the final table of the Full Tilt $750,000-guaranteed event, as well (read below to see how he fared there). He came up just short here, as GoMukYaSelf took down the final pot to collect the additional $30,000. GoMukyaSelf had an extra $135,000 in his PokerStars account to end the night.

The final results were:

  1. GoMukYaSelf — $135,335*
  2. supadphat (aka phatchoy888) — $105,335*
  3. jalla79 — $105,335*
  4. central106 — $60,645
  5. PokerED — $47,603
  6. Daryl “aaaaaaa” Jace — $34,561
  7. KtheKing — $23,476
  8. Billy “Patrolman35” Kopp — $15,650
  9. "Dumping"KGB (aka PXFACTOR) — $10,173

* Payout reflects a three-way even chop with $30,000 going to the eventual winner, per the PokerStars chopping rules.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

Garrett 'GBecks' Beckman The Full Tilt $750,000-guaranteed tournament required an overlay once again last night when 3,566 entrants bought in. That made last night’s event the ninth in a row to require an overlay, although last night’s wasn’t as bad as the week before — $36,800 compared to $59,000. The winner was guaranteed to pocket almost $133,000, basically as much as the winner of the PokerStars Sunday Million.

When it came down to the final battle over who that winner would be, it was Garrett “GBecks” Beckman (pictured at right) versus phatchoy888. Phatchoy888’s spirits had to be high, as he was also at the final table of the PokerStars Sunday Million (where he eventually finished as runner-up, read above). Phatchoy888 wound up doing here what he failed to do at PokerStars when he took down the last pot of the tournament to win the event. He earned $132,788, putting his total winnings for the night at a whopping $238,123.

The final results were:

  1. phatchoy888 (aka supadphat) — $132,788
  2. Garrett “GBecks” Beckman — $80,250
  3. Roekiks — $52,500
  4. Doc Sands — $41,400
  5. TheMasterJ33 — $31,050
  6. Adam “adamoos” Elpayaa — $23,025
  7. Bashful101 — $17,250
  8. herdgolf86 — $13,500
  9. vandAAgnog — $10,050

UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee

UltimateBet’s flagship $200,000 guarantee had 877 entrants last night, just about on par with the attendance it has been having lately. UltimateBet put up $24,600 to match its guarantee for the event.

Scott “Papa Bull XL” Flint went head to head versus billandsues for the $45,000 first-place payday in the event after outlasting a very tough final table. Ultimately, billandsues outlasted his final opponent to snag the big money, leaving Papa Bull XL with a still significant $27,000.

The final results were:

  1. billandsues — $45,000
  2. Scott “Papa Bull XL” Flint — $27,000
  3. SetTrippin247 — $18,500
  4. Fajzher — $13,000
  5. Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau — $11,000
  6. PiKappStoner — $9,000
  7. Deckzor — $7,000
  8. Jonas “no1TK” Lennartsson (aka Telefonkiosk) — $5,000
  9. mwl342 — $3,500
  10. allsaints — $2,000

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

The Bodog $100,000-guaranteed event had 703 entrants last night, which meant that it was holding steady in the low 700s. The tournament required a $29,700 overlay, even more than the first-place prize of $23,600. At $100, the Bodog tournament continues to give its entrants excellent equity, as entrants last night essentially got a $142 buy-in for $100.

The main beneficiaries of that overlay cash were Adrian “pokerarg” Gavile and floppedout, who were the final two players remaining in the event. Floppedout outflopped his foe enough times to take down the tournament, meaning he left the table with the $23,600 first-place prize.

The final results were:

  1. floppedout — $23,600
  2. Adrian “pokerarg” Gavile — $13,600
  3. king silas — $9,100
  4. moonman25 — $7,000
  5. vasctrainer — $5,700
  6. thedude81 — $4,500
  7. Riverdancer37 — $3,300
  8. tehdow — $2,200
  9. McNair0938 — $1,300
