Bodog Poker recently awarded the very first seats from any online poker site into the 2009 World Series of Poker main event. The seats were awarded to three players as a result of a promotion involving the site's Bodog Poker Mini Series final event. Those players were “pokerfanx789,” “dudix,” and “Boswan.”

The Bodog Poker Mini Series consisted of 25 tournaments that mirrored the hold’em events in the 2008 WSOP but with buy-ins that were one percent of the actual WSOP event buy-ins. The last event of the series, an invitational tournament taking place after the Mini Series' main event, awarded three $12,000 2009 WSOP VIP prize packages, and the field consisted of 27 entrants. Eighteen players were from semifinal qualifiers, five came from a wild-card drawing of players who had competed in at least three Mini Series events, and the final four players earned their way into the event by finishing on top of the Mini Series leader board.

The three winners each received a $12,000 VIP package that includes a 2009 $10,000 main event buy-in, as well as spending money for travel and expenses.

Bodog will continue to run qualifiers to the biggest tournaments in the world. The easiest way to qualify for an event is to win a Bodog Player’s Choice package, which can be used at the winners’ discretion. Players can also take advantage of an exclusive Bodog Poker deposit bonus through Card Player.
