Two Olympics-inspired hold’em and Omaha tournaments with either $250 or $1,000 added by PaddyPowerPoker.com will run each night between Aug. 8 and 14. These events will lead up to a Gold Medal Freeroll, which will have more than $15,000 in cash and prizes for the taking.
In order to qualify for the freeroll on Aug. 15, players must compete in at least three of the PPP Olympics events. First prize in the no-limit hold’em freeroll is an Irish Winter Festival package worth $4,500, while the top 30 finishers will receive an Irish Winter Festival satellite ticket worth either $23.50 or $215, and a piece of the $10,000 cash prize pool.
Paddy Power, the communications manager for PaddyPowerPoker, said, “We’re giving away over $20,000 to those players willing to show us they’re at the top of their game and trying to get on the podium — for those who have been in training these last few months, it is now time to grab their spandex, shave all their body hair, and reach out for the gold medal!”
