The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, has been hosting a series of $3,000 buy-in charity poker tournaments to benefit local non-profit organizations, and the third installment is scheduled for Aug. 22-24 to benefit the Ann Storck Center.

Players can compete at 10 a.m. on either Friday, Aug. 22 or Saturday, Aug. 23 for day 1. Play will resume for day 2 on Aug. 24. Registration begins Aug. 15, and players will start with 20,000 in chips.

The first two charity events at the Seminole Hard Rock netted $60,000 for charity. In the inaugural May tournament, Doron Malinasky won just over $98,000 for first place while $40,000 from the prize pool was donated to the Miami Beach Health Foundation. The second event took place in July, and it generated $20,000 for the Hollywood Police Athletic League. Richard Kirsch won that event for more than $56,000.

The focus of this charity event, the Ann Storck Center, is a nationally accredited human service organization that strives to serve the needs of those afflicted with severe and multiple developmental disabilities including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, and mental retardation.
