“The Poker Den has come such a long way since we started it back in the summer of 2005,” said Eddie Hearn, head of online gaming at Matchroom Sport, one of the sponsors. “The Big Game has been such a huge success, and the two series so far have attracted the best players in the world. We have seen some great action, fantastic banter between the players, and some berating between players.”
The game will be a marathon for many of the players, who plan on playing the whole time. One person who will be working the whole time is commentator Jesse May. He will be joined by a selection of professionals as co-commentators throughout the game.
The show will be filmed Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 and will be shown on Channel 5 in the UK early next year. The players will be in London for the main event of the World Series of Poker Europe. The show will eventually be distributed throughout the world.
