The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) is going international later this month by holding a series in Miraflores (near Lima), Peru.

The host casino is the Casino Atlantic City. The series starts Saturday, Aug. 23, with a mega-satellite that will award winners with buy-ins to all of the tournaments scheduled for the week, including the $1,080 main event.

Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher will be on hand all week offering a poker strategy seminar for all of those in attendance.

The series offers daily tournaments ranging from $225 to $550, including a bounty tournament, a ladies tournament, and the main event. Satellites are held daily, and English- and Spanish-speaking staff will be available at all times.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be expanding into Latin America,” said Lupe Soto, founder of the LIPS Tour. “This is only the beginning of the new type of poker tourism we’ll be able to offer players. Our goal is to create great poker opportunities and amazing venues in which to play the game, as well.”

Players seeking information on traveling to the event can contact Luis at Pipo’s Travel: Phone: 305-858-6162 or e-mail [email protected].
