Olympics Star Michael Phelps Invited to APTHe Took the Gold Eight Times in Beijing, But Will He Do it in Macau? |

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps recently revealed that he is a poker enthusiast and plays regularly. When the Asian Poker Tour became aware of this, it decided to invite the champion to play in the $5,300 main event in Macau.
An open letter, which was written by APT marketing director Jeff Mann, explained to the star that before returning home, the APT would fly him over, organise accommodation, and even buy him into the event.
Mann wrote, “Some have said you are a ‘human dolphin,’ but we’re keen to know if history’s greatest swimmer is really a fish. You may have feet that can reach angles others cannot to give you the ultimate swimming technique, but just you wait until you’ve got sharks like Vegas poker legend Doyle Brunson chasing you.”
The Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino Resort in Macau will play host to the second leg of the Asian Poker Tour when it gets under way on Aug. 27-31. We will have to wait and see if Phelps is interested in competing for a slice of the $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool, or perhaps for the $500,000 first prize, which is the largest to this date in Asia.
