PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million had 7,557 entrants last night, making for a total prize pool of $1,511,400, just $11,400 more than the guarantee. Those numbers were down slightly from last week, when numbers had already been the lowest that the Sunday Million had seen since July 6. The winner of the event could expect to pocket at most $186,000 should no deal be made at the final table.

Two players were guaranteed six-figure paydays in the event, and, without a deal having been made until heads-up play, those two players were NFrost_10 and es_dame. A deal was finally made between the two remaining players; they opted for an even chop of $140,901 apiece with $30,000 left on the line for the ultimate winner, per the PokerStars chopping rules. With $141K tucked away, es_dame bowed out as runner-up, leaving the extra $30K to be scooped up by NFrost_10, putting his total earnings at $170,901.

The final results were:

  1. NFrost_10 — $170,901*
  2. es_dame — $140,901*
  3. karelli — $84,638
  4. Duffs#1fan — $69,524
  5. SonnyInMtl — $54,410
  6. lecharentais — $39,296
  7. kidkanda99 — $26,450
  8. hidden1s — $17,381
  9. afiopeneyes2 — $10,580

* Payout reflects a two-day even chop made at the final table with $30,000 left for the eventual winner, per the PokerStars chopping rules.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

Terry 'Asiandude7' EischensThe Full Tilt $750,000-guaranteed tournament had an unexpectedly low turnout of 3,752 entrants last night, avoiding an overlay by just three entrants and putting the prize pool at $750,400. This was unexpected because Full Tilt is coming off of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series IX, and marquee tournaments usually peak right after a major tournament series has been held on the site. Like the PokerStars Sunday Million, this turnout was the lowest the tournament had seen since July 6.

Nevertheless, there was almost $133,000 on the line for the first-place finisher. The final three players in the event were Terry “Asiandude7” Eischens, 6 speed, and ship hamilton. Of those three, Asiandude7 was sent railward first in third place, earning $53,000. Ship hamilton then squared off versus 6speed for the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool. Ship hamilton eventually came out ahead in that fight, taking down the only six-figure payday in the event.

The final results were:

  1. ship hamilton — $132,858
  2. 6speed — $80,293
  3. Terry “Asiandude7” Eischens — $52,528
  4. hallebeary — $41,422
  5. WhoAteMyShorts — $31,067
  6. ChAzZz18 — $23,037
  7. Ronaldinho — $17,259
  8. TollBoothBandit — $13,507
  9. Carl Bildt — $10,055

UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee

Attendance at the UltimateBet $200,000-guaranteed event continued to drop last night as only 846 entrants bought in. That represented the lowest attendance the tournament has had since June 15. UltimateBet came out of pocket for $30,800 to match its posted guarantee for the event.

That overlay did not affect the $45,000 first-place prize, of course, and notable Internet pros reached the final table in droves gunning for that top payday. Brian “dubbeemin” Mintz, for instance, was just coming off of his major win in the FTOPS IX main event last week, and he ultimately finished in fifth place here ($11,000). When it got to heads up, it was Benton “BootnTee” Blakeman against OreO_101. BootnTee kicked his last foe to the rail to become the last man standing and net the 45 grand.

The final results were:

  1. Benton “BootnTee” Blakeman — $45,000
  2. OreO_101 — $27,000
  3. familyman1962 — $18,500
  4. Scott “stpauli111” Hall — $13,000
  5. Brian “dubbeemin” Mintz — $11,000
  6. Jeremy “whitewollfe” Gregorio — $9,000
  7. Ross “zestfulyclean” Myers — $7,000
  8. Jon “jlewis10748” Lewis — $5,000
  9. Buy Buy — $3,500
  10. dirrr — $2,000

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

The Bodog $100,000-guaranteed tournament had 656 entrants last night, down slightly from the 666 entrants of last week, but down significantly from the 700-plus entrants the tournament was having in previous weeks. Bodog overlayed $34,400 to match its guarantee, more than one-third of the prize pool and more than the ninth- through third-place paydays combined. Players were essentially getting a $152 buy-in tournament for $100.

The first-place prize in the event was $23,600. Spilsner went up against Balla686 were the only two players to snag five-figure paydays in the event, and they went heads-up for that top prize. Balla686 raked in the final pot of the event to take the title and the biggest payday of the tournament.

CardPlayer.com readers should remember to check back on Thursday or Saturday for the password to the Card Player-exclusive Bodog $100K qualifier, a tournament in which Bodog overlays five seats to the event.

The final results were:

  1. Balla686 — $23,600
  2. spilsner — $13,600
  3. syzygy3732 — $9,100
  4. Wade “soggyvag2” Woelfel — $7,000
