Irish Poker Festival to Star in Documentary

Roy BrindeyLadbrokes Poker announced today that the €250,000 guaranteed Irish Poker Festival, which is due to take place in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney from, Oct. 2-5, will be filmed for broadcast on Irish terrestrial station TG4. It will then be distributed to networks worldwide, while a web stream will also be made available on LadbrokesPoker.com.

Roy “The Boy” Brindley, a Ladbrokes sponsored pro, said, “Terrestrial television coverage for this event is excellent news. It is just one more reason hoards of poker players will descend on one of Ireland’s most beautiful regions in October. This will be a blend of fun and, with huge money plus European ranking points on offer, some very serious poker playing.”

The €550 main event. which will run from Oct. 3-5. is expected to attract more than 600 European professionals. The Festival will also host a €300 no-limit hold’em freezeout on Oct. 4 and a €170 no-limit freezeout on Oct. 5.

Players can qualify on LadbrokesPoker.com through a variety of satellites. From Tuesday to Sunday at 7:30 p.m. (GMT) there are super-satellites for as little as $5, or daily finals for $33, which feed into the weekly final.

The $137.50 weekly satellite finals take place every Monday at 7:30 p.m., and offer one package for every $1,250 in the prize pool. These packages include the main event buy-in and two nights accommodation for two at the Gleneagle Hotel.
