Despite a turbulent history between the Republican Party and online gambling supporters, the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has reached out and partnered with the American Gaming Association (AGA) to host a charity poker tournament at the Republican National Convention next week in an effort to raise money for the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
The RNC is taking place Sept. 1-4 at the Xcel Energy Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tournament will be held on Sept. 3 at 116 First Ave. North and will begin after a VIP reception starting at 10 p.m. The only way to gain an entry into the event is by purchasing a sponsorship package. The following are levels available:

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America, an organization that works veterans who have acquired spinal cord injury and diseases. The PPA and AGA ran a charity tournament for the Paralyzed Veterans of America at yesterday’s Democratic Convention. The event was successful in raising $60,000 for the cause, and Oscar winner Ben Affleck was the last player standing.
