Strip Poker: Sports Celebrity Charity Tourney at Hard Rock

Though it is pretty much impossible for an average Joe to match up against an NBA star on the basketball court, it is possible to go head to head with one of these athletes on the poker felt. On Monday, Sept. 15, Greg Anthony and Jermaine O’Neal will host the Sports Dream Celebrity Poker charity event at the brand-new Poker Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to benefit charity.

The sports celebs will walk the red carpet at 12:30 p.m., just before the start of the tournament. A number of celebrities are expected to attend, including the following players: Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Jose Canseco, John Starks, Spud Webb, Mark Aguirre, and Dante Jones. The event is open to the public, so for the right donation, anyone can rub elbows with these sports legends. The following are the ticket-packages available for purchase online at StubHub.com:

$500 ─ Sports Dream Event

$5,000 ─ Package for four to the charity poker tournament

• Four poker seats at a table with a celebrity

$10,000 ─ Package for eight to the charity poker tournament

There will be one rebuy or add-on available for the first hour for $500. The top places will share $50,000 in cash and prizes. The rest of the money generated in the prize pool will go to charity. The proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's Operation Smile. Operation Smile is an organization dedicated to helping children with facial deformities and building public and private partnerships that advocate for sustainable healthcare for children. The American Cancer Society works to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing it, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.
