Belgium Poker Championship Coming Soon2008 Belgian Poker Championship Hoping to Break European Record |
|
The Belgium Poker Championship is back for the fourth consecutive year at the Casino of Namur and Spa in Belgium from Nov. 15-23. Last year, this event had over 800 entrants, and with a buy-in of €1,500, it had a lot to offer.
With capacity doubled to 1,600 and a buy-in of €1,550 + €150 this year, the championship event is pushing the boundaries in the hope of breaking the record for the largest event ever held in Europe.
Last year’s winner was native Jamel Maistriaux. He took home €300,092 for first place. But this year the prize pool is expected to reach €2 million, so there is an awful lot on offer for any wannabe champion — once they are over 21-years-old. There will be many side events and cash games also, and the main event, which will be televised, will run for nine days.
The Casino of Namur is holding €55 + €15 satellites to the main event four times a week, on Tuesday at 8 p.m. (local time), and weekends at 2:30 p.m.. There is also a weekly satellite on Thursdays at 8 p.m.. Players can register for one of these satellites, or indeed the main event, either via the casino itself or online by clicking here. The site is only available in French at present, but will be translated soon.
Some online poker sites will also be hosting satellites for this exciting event.
The casino is in a hotel which is offering an enticing package to those hoping to attend. €2,499 will get any main event hopeful; one seat in the event, seven nights in the hotel plus breakfast, dinner and wine each night, and 70 drink vouchers.
This deal is available via any bookings made through the casino’s poker representative, Kenny Hallaert. He can be contacted at [email protected] or +32 (0) 476 80 65 35 for any additional information also.
