U.S. Senate Rejects Measure to Restrict E-Gaming |
|
John Kyl, a Republican senator from Arizona, vowed to continue his fight against online gambling after a failed attempt to put the kibosh on the burgeoning multi-billion dollar industry.
In a bit of a slow roll, Kyl attempted to attach an Internet gambling restriction to an annual spending bill. The attempt was rejected due to the lack of any real connection between the two.
Kyl believes that measures found in his legislation - stopping players from using their banks and credit cards to fund online gambling accounts - will eventually become law.
Many banks in the United States already refuse transers to e-gaming sites via credit card; however, a number of third-party sites still allow players to fund their accounts via direct deposit from their bank accounts.
The measures that Kyl believes will eventually become law would certainly slow down the growth of popular offshore e-gaming sites, many of which receive high traffic from customers in the United States.
