The upcoming main event at the Belgium Poker Championship, being held at the Casino de Namur in Belgium from Nov. 13 to 23 is expected to see 1,000 players take to the felt to vie for an estimated €1.5 million. Big names already registered for the event include Davidi Kitai (Team Winamax), Anthony Lelouche (Team Winamax), Michel Abecassis (Team Winamax), Eric Koskas (Team Winamax), Guillaume de La Gorce (Team Winamax), Anthony Roux (Team Winamax), Peter Dalhuijsen, Michiel Brummelhuis, and Rolf Slotboom. The tournament organisers have also announced the final qualifiers at Casinos Namur and Spa. Details are:

To accommodate the large field there will be four day one’s on Nov. 15, 16, 17, and 18. Side events will also run on these days. The full schedule is:

Players can qualify through a variety of routes online at Unibet, Winamax, T6-poker, Poker770 and Chilipoker or play in the €55 + €15 satellites with unlimited rebuys for first hour + add on at Casino de Namura each Tuesday at 20:00 (CET) and Saturday and Sunday at 14:30 (CET) or Casino de Spa each Thursday at 20:00 (CET).
Casino de Namur also hosts a €200+20 freezeout qualifier on the first two Wednesdays of November.
Player can register directly for a €2,500 package which contains one ticket for the main event, seven nights in the hotel which is in the same building of the casino, seven breakfast, seven evening meals + one bottle of wine, and 70 drinks vouchers. A second player can share a room for €2,200.
The 2007 event was won by Jamel Maistriaux from Belgium who lifted €300,092 for his victory over a field which included Lex Veldhuis, Mickey Finn, Michiel Brummelhuis, and Haim Kakoun. The event this year will be filed for TV broadcast, details of which will be announced soon.
