The PartyPoker.com Poker Nations Cup reaches its climax tonight on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland at 00.10 with Germany,
Great Britain, Sweden, the U.S., and Holland chasing the $100,000 top prize. Among those representing their countries are team captains Roland De Wolfe (Britain), Michael Keiner (Germany), Marcel Luske (Holland), Padraig Parkinson (Ireland), Bo Sehlstedt (Sweden), and Robert Williamson III (USA).
Last year Sweden beat the USA to the title.
Players ponied up $5,000 each to play in the event and sponsor PartyPoker added $100,000 to create an overall prize pool of $280,000. Each team had a PartyPoker.com qualifier except the USA which had talk show super-celebrity Montel Williams.
A spokesman for the company said, “At the start of the final episode there are five teams remaining after the USA busted out in sixth. Great Britain holds the chip lead but it is all to play for as none of the teams have short stacks.”
