Automated poker tables are heading to the Gulf Coast, as PokerTek installed four of its PokerPro tables at Boomtown Casino and Hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana. The company also recently installed two table at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino in the Caribbean.
This year, PokerTek expanded operations to Montreal, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and now Louisiana. Automated poker rooms featuring the PokerPro tables can be found in New York, California, Indiana, Iowa, Connecticut, and elsewhere. PokerTek is also the sole provider of automated poker tables to Harrah’s, and it has tables installed on all 22 of Carnival Cruise Line’s ships.
Last year, it launched a “for amusement only” heads-up machine branded with the World Series of Poker. So far, it has distributed more than 1,000 of those machines, which can be found in bars and restaurants.
In other company news, PokerTek was approved by NASDAQ to switch being listed on its Global Market to its Capital Market, which lists stocks of companies with smaller market caps. It is still listed as PTEK.
