Formerly known as Simon Poker Day, the Poker for the Homeless charity event takes place at this year’s PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship event in Galway on Sunday Jan. 4.
The €330 buy in event (of which €100 goes directly to homeless charities) is generously supported by some of Europe’s top online poker rooms including PartyPoker.com , Ladbrokespoker.com, Boylepoker.com, BrucePoker.com, and PokerTrillion.com
So far the event has raised over €100,000 and has previously been won by former world champion Noel Furlong and Waterford player Pat Storan.
Padraig Parkinson, one of the organisers of Poker for the Homeless, said, “We’re moving to Galway for this event and are very grateful for all the support we’ve had from our sponsors. Local homeless charities will benefit directly from this event and, as usual at an Irish tournament, we plan to have some fun along the way.”
