The Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) is using the world's hottest game to raise money and awareness for its cause. On September 29, 2005, the JBBBSLA will be holding a no-limit Texas hold'em tournament at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, California.
Between 150 and 200 players are expected to turn out for the $200 buy-in charity event, with first place receiving a $5,000 cash prize. Also included in the entry fee is a pre-tournament dinner, and lessons on hold'em.
The JBBBSLA has been mentoring youth through a variety of programs since 1915 and serves over 1,500 children annually. The JBBBSLA hopes that the event will draw in new volunteers and provide participants with networking opportunities in a unique environment.
For those interested in playing a larger role in the event, there are a number of sponsorship packages available, many of which include seats in the tournament. For information on participation and sponsorship, please contact Rebecca Rauh at (323) 761-8675 ext. 30
