Englishman Wins Aussie Million Heads-Up Event

John Tabatabai Truimphs over Alec Torelli in Oz to Take Down AUD$100,000

Former World Series of Poker Europe runner up John Tabatabai defeated Alec Torelli in the finals of the $5,300 no-limit John Tabatabaihold'em heads-up championship at the Aussie Million to win $100,000 AUD and an gold ring.

The final hand came down to a preflop showdown that pitted Tabatabai's A7  against the K10  of a short-stacked Torelli. The board fired out 977Q8 and Tabatabi was the champion.

Thirty-two players took part in the event. The semi-finals consisted of :

David Gent vs. John Tabatabai

Alec Torelli vs. Jarred Graham

Torelli received AUD$60,000 for the runner up spot.
