Full Tilt Signs Sweden's Michael Tureniec

In an effort to stretch their marketing efforts to Sweden, Full Tilt Poker has added up-and-coming poker superstar Michael Tureniec to their stable of Full Tilt pros. Tureniec is the first Swede to be signed with Full Tilt, joining other Europeans such as Jens Voertmann (Germany), Sigi Stockinger (Austria), Claudio Rinaldi (Switzerland), Soren Kongsgaard (Denmark), Nikolay Evdakov (Russia), Alessio Isaia (Italy), and Trond Erik Eidsvig (Norway), among others.

Tureniec had three decent cashes in the summer of 2007 before he really broke through. After final tabling a tournament at EPT Copenhagen, Tureniec finished runner-up at EPT London for over $700,000. Just one month later, Tureniec won an event at the Master Classics of Poker for just over $200,000. Most recently, he made a deep run at the Aussie Millions main event, eventually finishing in 19th place.

The 23-year-old from Solna, Sweden, has been playing poker since he was taught the game by friends in 2003, and he turned pro in 2006 when the ability to support himself by playing poker became a reality. Tureniec is a self-taught poker pro who grinded out his chops online, where he has added over a half million to his robust tournament earnings. He prefers to stick to no-limit hold’em tournaments online, and he should have little trouble finding action now, playing under his Full Tilt avatar.
