Frenchman Wins First PartyPoker.com Monthly Million

French player Popeye7111 won the inaugural PartyPoker.com Monthly Million at the weekend topping a field of 1659 players to take home $155,000. Popeye, a member of the Palladium Lounge at the online poker site, did a deal  with second place mbalzack once the pair got heads up in the $600 buy in event.

The tournament paid out 250 players with the final table results looking like this:

Each month online poker players can qualify for the event, which will take place on the first Sunday, for as little as $1 with popular routes expected to be the $64 + $4 daily satellites with 18 seats guaranteed, the Mega Friday $50 + $5 satellite with 30 seats guaranteed and the Super Sunday $32 + $3 satellite with 25 seats guaranteed.

A spokesman for PartyPoker said, “We’d like to congratulate Palladium Lounge member Popeye 7111 on his win - Olive Oyl will be happy. The spoils went to France but there was a very strong performance from the UK with three players cashing in the top ten.”
