As one of the original online players, Steve "thorladen" Weinstein has seen the game evolve from its infancy into the behemoth that it is today. Weinstein recently came out victorious in the Borgata Winter Poker Open, taking home nearly half of a million in winnings.
Weinstein had come close to winning a major tournament before, bubbling two World Poker Tour main events before finally closing it out in Atlantic City. Primarily a cash-game player, Weinstein plays a limited live schedule and rarely ventures away from his computer for a $3,000 preliminary style tournament. Luckily, the excellent structure and a juicy last-longer bet prompted him to play, a decision he would not regret.
The 45-year-old took some time out from his busy online schedule to talk to Card Player TV about his recent win and also expand a bit on his background on Wall Street. Weinstein also goes on to expand on his situation as a backer and what it takes to get staked.
