888.com, owner of Pacific Poker, has announced a Bushfire Relief Charity Tournament in aid of victims of the recent bush fires in Australia which claimed almost 200 lives and left hundreds homeless earlier this month.
The $30 rebuy tournament takes place this Sunday, Feb. 22 at 9:30 a.m. GMT. All buy-ins and rebuys will go to the Shane Warne Foundation Bushfire Relief Appeal & The Variety.
Pacific Poker ambassadors including Aussie Rules footballer Brendan Fevola (bfevola25) and boxing legend, Jeff Fenech (fenech888) will have a $50 bounty on their heads.
Jennifer Huxley, the spokesman for 888Poker, said, “888Poker is deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred and we hope this tournament will help in a small way those that have been affected.”
Pacific Poker will give $500 to the winner, $300 to second place, $200 to third place and places fourth to 10th will receive free entry into the New Zealand Poker Championship qualifier on March 1 worth $120.
