Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Walsall Main Event Under Way

Day 1A at the GUKPT saw 111 players Start and Just 26 Finish the Day

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour has made its second stop of the year at the Grosvenor Casino, Walsall  with the Jeff Kimbernine-day festival culminating in the £1,000 main event which started yesterday.

The festival got underway with a £100 no-limit hold’em event and more than 300 players are expected to take to the felt for the main event which last year was won by Jeff Kimber who took down £83,000.

Day 1a saw 111 players in the main event and by the the end of play only 26 had made it through. The top 10 in chips were:

  4. James Akenhead  -- 72,275
  5. Joseph Grech  -- 67,750
  6. Martyn Cavanagh -- 63,475

  8. Michael Greco -- 54,475
  9. Robert Price  -- 54,150
  10. Jeff Hemmerman  -- 47,800
