World Poker Tour Expands to Venice, Italy in MayExpansion of WPT Continues with Announcement of Italian Event |

World Poker Tour Enterprises yesterday announced Venice, Italy as the latest stop on the WPT, just one week after announcing Marrakech, Morocco would host a stop in October.
Casino di Venezia will host the event €4,000 + €400 from May 6 to 10, 2009 with the final table being filmed for a web-TV broadcast by bwin.com. The winner will also receive a gold WPT bracelet and a $25,000 seat in the WPT Championship in 2010.
WPT CEO Steve Lipscomb said he was thrilled by the launch of the first WPT event in Italy. “bwin is a strong partner with the right market position in the region. We look forward to working with them to bring this event and the WPT brand to poker players in Italy and Europe.”

World Poker Tour Enterprises recently announced its 2008 revenues had fallen.
