PaddyPowerPoker.com’s 2009 Irish Poker Open, which kicks off later this week at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, will air on TG4 as eight one-hour programmes starting on May 6, at 11:30 p.m..

“We are proud to partner with TG4 for the broadcasting of this year’s Irish Open,” said Eric Booth, Head of Poker at PaddyPowerPoker.com. “This is our flagship poker festival and it’s important to us that as many people as possible get to experience the highs, the lows and all the excitement that the Irish Open promises!”PaddyPowerPoker

Winmedia Ireland Ltd., the company which produced the first ever sponsored poker tournament in 2002, and which has extensive experience in the field, will produce the shows for TG4.

TG4’s Head of Sport, Rónán Ó Coisdealbha said, “We are delighted to be involved with Paddy Power for this event and to bring this prestigious tournament to poker fans all over Ireland on national television.”

Easter weekend welcomes hundreds of players, some of whom are the most recognised in the poker world, to the Celtic shores for this prestigious event. Time is of the essence for those wishing to qualify. There are still ways to get there via a large helping of skill and a sprinkling of luck at PaddyPowerPoker.com’s Last Chance Saloon.
