The PaddyPowerPoker.com Irish Open main event starts today at Citywest Hotel, Dublin with around 600 players expected to pony up the €3,200 buy in to play in one of Europe's leading events. A number of big names will appear including Brian ‘sbrugby’ Townsend, former world champion Jamie Gold, Ciaran O’Leary, Phil Laak, and reigning champion Neil Channing.

Over 400 players participated in the super satellite last night with the prize pool surpassing €220,000 and over 60 tickets to today's event being awarded.

European poker players who like the occasional punt  have a number of Neil Channing, reigning Irish Open championbetting markets to peruse at PaddyPower.com.

Thomas Dunwoodie -- 11/2
Tim Blake -- 6/1
Edwin Tournier -- 6/1
