EPT Sets Another New Record with Largest Grand Final Field Ever

The PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final saw its largest ever field attend the event over the Defending champion Glen Chorny busted on day 1blast two starting days with 934 players take to the felt in the €10,600 buy in event. This was up 10 percent on last year’s 842 and, as a result, EPT Monte Carlo is likely to see a record first prize on European soil of well over €2 million.

Day 1b saw many notable eliminations including Nelly, Team PokerStars pro Gavin Griffin, Gus Hansen, David Steicke, Chris Bjorin, Julian Thew, Jeff Madsen, Max Pescatori, Evelyn Ng, Dan Shak, Joe Elpayaa, Juha Helppi, Thomas Wahlroos, John Juanda, Neil Channing, Amit Makhija, Alexander Kostritsyn, Dave Ulliott, Team PokerStars pro Katja Thater, Thierry Van Den Berg, and Carlos Mortensen.

Day 2 sees 527 players return to get into the serious business at hand. The top 10 in chips are:
