Online Poker in Italy Continues to GrowPlayers Wager €188 Million on Online Poker in April 2009 |

In the wake of the huge numbers attending the European Poker Tour San Remo and the success of the World Poker Tour Venice, Italians continue to show their enthusiasm for online poker, wagering €188 million during April 2009.
This is an increase of three percent on March 2009 when the total was €182 million according to the Agipo News Agency.
This represents 4.23 percent of the total gambled in Italy across slot machines, bingo, horseracing, sports betting, scratch cards and lotto, up from 4 percent in March 2009.
In January 2009 the amount spent on online poker was €130 million, setting growth for the year from January to April at 44.6 percent.
