Online Poker -- The $1K Roundup, Week of May 11jas11 and viirusss Win Big |
|
The $1K Roundup got a huge boost this week thanks to the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) and event No. 12, which replaced the usual $1K Monday. The event drew in a field of 1,349 players, roughly four times the normal amount for the weekly high-stakes tournament. The only difference was that this event was played six-handed and featured early antes. Unknown player Jas11 came out on top for the $300,000 payday.
The increase in action helped out PokerStars, as well, when their weekly Super Tuesday event met its guarantee for the first time in weeks. In the end, viirusss took it down, beating a talented final table in the process.
