East Coast players will have to wait only a few more months to be able to spend more time playing cards and less time on a waiting list.
The Borgata in Atlantic City will open its new expanded poker room sometime before next summer when the first major expansion of the resort is complete. When the room is completed, the number of poker tables will increase from 24 to 85. This should ease some of the congestion in the popular and always packed poker room.
The expansion is part of a project that will also add 500 more slot machines, 36 more blackjack tables and several restaurants and bars operated by celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck, Michael Mina, and Bobby Flay.
The casino doesn't have an exact date when construction will be completed, only that it will be finished sometime in the second financial quarter of next year.
The Borgata is also about half a year away from breaking ground on a new tower that will add 800 rooms to the hotel.
