Videogame developer Play Technologies announced it's developing a new console poker game that promises to be different from anything out there.
Play Technologies will release "Poker Face" sometime in Fall of 2006. Instead of simply playing the cards, players will have to know and understand the videogame character's tells in order to win. The game also features a unique narrative thread running, giving players the reason why they're playing and introducing characters like cardsharks, crime bosses, and femme fatales.
According to Play Technologies, losing the game no longer just means just losing money; your skill with the cards and how well you read the other players could be all that stands between you and a set of broken fingers.
Poker Face is being developed for the PC and Sony PSP. Play Technologies is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland.
