The Boylepoker.com International Poker Open 2009 hits the Regency Hotel in Dublin on Oct. 16 with $25,000 added by the sponsor and a unique twist – by playing on Boylepoker in August and September players can add 2,000 chips to their 8,000 starting stack.

The no-limit Texas hold’em poker tournament is the largest outside of the U.S. and is expected to sell out its capacity of 1,300 players once again, which means an estimated $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Head of Poker at Boylepoker.com, Paul Spillane, said, “What makes the event so popular is that it is truly a tournament for all pockets, and with surprises in store like the extra starting chips for players who play at Boylepoker.com during August and September, the event is likely to sell out well in advance, just like last year.”

Ruairi Coy won last year’s IPO for a payday of €37,530 from a total prize pool of €205,000.

It is anticipated that the Open will be even more popular this year with the new “added chips” thrown into the mix.

To get these extra free chips, all Boylepoker users must do is play online during the two months running up to the event, and gather VIP Club Points. 250 accumulated in August means 1,000 free chips, and 250 earned in September, is another 1,000 chips. Players must register for the event by Oct. 15, and there will be no cash entries allowed on the day.
